Our history

A documented voice since 2019

How the association began, and the milestones in its advocacy since.

Origin

Formed by the people who drive this industry.

The Port Transportation Association was formed in 2019 by drayage (container) trucking company owners operating at the Port of Vancouver. Its purpose from the outset was to publicly document industry conditions and to press terminal operators, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, the BC Ministry of Transportation, and the Office of the BC Container Trucking Commissioner to act.
