COVID-19 Driver Thank You
On May 1, 2020, the PTA served meals and coffee to drivers at the Nordel scale to thank the port trucking community for keeping Canada’s supply chain moving through the pandemic.
In the early months of the COVID-19 crisis, everyone in the trucking community worked hard to keep goods moving. Commercial drivers, both local and highway, carried the heaviest load. Many struggled daily just to find an open washroom or a hot meal.
The Port Transportation Association wanted to thank these hard-working drivers properly. So on May 1, the PTA set up at the Nordel scale and served meals and beverages to drivers as they rolled through.
For four hours, our members put on safety vests, gloves and masks and handed out hot appetizers and sweets, cooked on site by Rangoli Catering & Sweets, along with hot tea, water and Tim Hortons coffee.

An event like this takes many hands. The association thanks all of our volunteers, the Nordel scale, and the CVSE members working that day, as well as Rangoli Catering & Sweets. Thank you also to Tim Hortons for providing the coffee.
